FPIK – LAMBUNG MANGKURAT UNIVERSITY VISIT FPIK – UNDIP FOR A COMPARATIVE STUDY

FPIK, SEMARANG – Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Diponegoro University has received several guests from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The visit activity is in order to increase the capacity of the Chair of the Study Program within the FPIK, ULM so that it requires input from organizational management and leadership experiences through a comparative study. The activity was carried out on 17th – 18th October 2019 with 4 members, namely Ir. Suhaili Asmawi, MS (Head of Aquatic Resources Management Study Program), Ir. Rabiatul Adawyah, MP (Head of Fishery Product Technology Study Program), Ir. H. Adurraim Nur, MS (Head of Aquaculture Study Program) and Dafiuddin Salim, S.Kel, M.Si (a.n. Head of Marine Science Study Program).

The visit was held for 2 days and was welcomed by Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc, Ph.D as the Dean of FPIK and his staff and presented the Heads of the Study Program at FPIK or those who represented, then conducted several presentations and discussions. Session 1 includes efforts to establish cooperation between FPIK Undip and related parties, internalizing the vision and mission of the Faculty and Study Programs into the Tridharma of Higher Education, Development of Governance and Human Resources for study programs at FPIK UNDIP. In session 2, which includes coaching student activities as well as implementing curriculum and learning development. The activity continued with laboratory visits, class visits and learning atmosphere studies as well as library management of study programs and faculties on the second day.

The activity was closed with a group photo and giving souvenirs. With the implementation of this activity, hopefully there can be good cooperation between the two institutions. (Ratnaningtyas).

FPIK UNDIP Helds ICTCRED 2019

FPIK, SEMARANG – Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) UNDIP held the 5th ICTCRED (International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco Development) on 17-18 September 2019 at Hotel Gumaya, Semarang. The international seminar is an annual event that aims to promote and disseminate research results in the scope of tropical and Coastal Region Eco Development.

This year’s ICTRED theme is Integrated Coastal Management for Sustainable Development. Chairman of the committee Aris Ismanto said, through this seminar, FPIK Diponegoro University encourages academics, researchers, and students to publish research results in reputable international journals and proceedings.

Dean of FPIK Prof. Tri Winarni said that the seminar was also a collaboration from the legal, social, economic and maritime fields.

“As it is known that Undip actually has a basic scientific pattern regarding the development of coastal areas, which is then used as the basis for holding the conference,” he said as quoted from the official website of Undip.

The Dean hopes that this activity can become a forum for researchers at Undip and other stakeholders who are wrestling / engaged in research related to tropical and coastal areas.

Present at the event was the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Prof. Ambariyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Law Undip Prof. Retno Saraswati, academics from various maritime and military fields, as well as the academic community.

Some of the key speakers who contributed to ICTCRED 2019, including Budi P. Resosudarmo from the Australian National University, Australia, Erik de Ruijter van Steveninck from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Netherlands, and Hiroki Saeki from Hokaido University, Japan.

In addition, Eddy Pratomo from Diponegoro University and Tony Hadibarata from Curtin University, Malaysia.

The research results presented at ICTCRED 2019 are scheduled to be published in the proceedings of the Institute of Physics (IOP), Biodiversity, WRA (World Researchers Associations), and AACL (Aquaculture, Aquarium, Conservation & Legislation) Bioflux. (Nug)

Prof. Yos Johan Utama Appoints the Dean of FPIK UNDIP

FPIK, SEMARANG – Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) UNDIP 2019-2024 replacing Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Sabdono, M.Sc on Monday (05/Aug/2020) at the SA-MWA Building UNDIP Tembalang. The inauguration procession was led directly by UNDIP Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama. The event was also attended by the Vice Rector, the Deans, the Head of the Academic Senate, the Vice Head of MWA, the Institutions Heads and structural officials within UNDIP.

The Rector also thanked the past officials for all their dedication in working together to build UNDIP for the better. “You are appointed under the oath with consequences not only in the world but also in the hereafter. For that reason, please work as straight as possible because UNDIP needs officials with integrity and honesty,” Prof. Yos Johan Utama said.

On that occasion, the position of Head of the Institute for Research and Community Services which will be held by Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T, deputy dean, head of study program, study program secretary, head of P2KKN, and support positions were inaugurated as well as well. (Source: www.undip.ac.id)

Alumni of Aquatic Resources Management UNDIP, class of 2008 Donates Electric Motors

FPIK, SEMARANG – The concern of Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) alumni to their alma mater was again shown by an Alumni of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program. Hengki Febrianto, S.Pi is an Alumni of MSP Class 2008, donated 1 unit of 2-wheeled electric motorbikes (two) and one unit of three-wheeled electric motorbikes. The donation was handed over on Thursday, Jan 17th, 2019 at Building D FPIK and was received by the Dean of FPIK, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Sabdono, M.Sc was accompanied by the Vice Dean I, Head of the Aquatic Resources Department and Head of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program. In his speech, the Dean thanked to Hengki Febrianto, S.Pi and PT. BF Goodrich who has contributed to the alma mater.

Hopefully this donation can be useful for FPIK, especially for the operations of education personnel. Moreover, these motorbikes are powered by electricity, which of course is environmentally friendly and can reduce carbon emissions. (Ratnaningtyas).

Department of Oceanography is ISO 9001: 2015 Certified

FPIK, SEMARANG – On January 9th, 2019, the Department of Oceanography, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, UNDIP has legally obtained ISO 9001: 2015 certification with the scope of “Management of Higher Education” from the United Registrar of Systems (URS) which is valid until January 8th, 2022, with certificate number 105039/A/0001/UK/En.

This certification shows that the Department of Oceanography UNDIP has implemented and met international standards for the higher education management system that are internationally recognized.

Head of the Department of Oceanography, Dr. Denny Nugroho S, ST, M.Si said that hopefully with this certification, the Department of Oceanography will get better in the future, he also expressed his gratitude to all staff members of the Department of Oceanography and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science UNDIP who have helped and supported the Department of Oceanography certification. (Ratnaningtyas).

The visit of the Ambassador of Suriname to Indonesia at FPIK

FPIK, SEMARANG – The Ambassador of Suriname to Indonesia Ricardo W. Panka, on Friday August 31st, 2018 visited the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science UNDIP to explore possible cooperation. Mr. Ricardo, accompanied by staff from the Suriname Embassy and staff from the Semarang City Government, took the time to visit FPIK because they were interested in developing mangroves in Suriname. The visit to Semarang this time is also in the context of a sister city cooperation with the Semarang City Government.

On a visit to FPIK, Mr. Ricardo was received by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambaryanto, MSc and accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Ir. Suradi, Deputy Dean for Resources Baskoro, ST, MT; Deputy Dean for Business Ir. Irwani M.Phil and Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation Tita Elfitasari, Spi, MSc, PhD as well as several department heads. During the cooperation discussion, Mr. Ricardo seemed very impressed with the several programs offered, including scholarships for Surinamese students to study at UNDIP, research collaboration and scientific diving programs for students.

Mr. Ricardo firmly believes that this collaboration can be realized, especially because Suriname and Indonesia have a strong historical relationship.

About 20% of the population of Suriname are of Javanese descent, which until now still maintains the Javanese language to communicate in Suriname. Mr. Ricardo himself also spoke a little bit of Indonesian and Javanese. The 1.5 hour visit was then ended with the exchange of souvenirs and group photos before the group continued on to the Semarang City Hall. (Ratnaningtyas).
