Educational Field Visit: Aquaculture Study Program of UNSRI Visits FPIK UNDIP

On Thursday (27/6) the Fisheries Product Technology study program from the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, conducted a field visit to the Fisheries Product Technology study program of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University. This visit aimed to conduct an educational tour and strengthening the relationship between fellow Fisheries Product Technology study programs. The group from Sriwijaya University, led by Prof. Dr. Rinto, S.Pi., M.P., along with lecturers and students, were welcomed at the Auditorium Building of FPIK Undip.

Prof. Dr. Rinto, S.Pi., M.P., expressed his joy as FPIK Undip warmly welcomed the visit from the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. He hoped that during their visit to FPIK Undip, especially to the Fisheries Product Technology study program, lecturers and students could gain as much knowledge as possible for the advancement of the Fisheries Product Technology program at UNSRI. The Dean of FPIK Undip, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D., in her brief opening remarks, also extended her greetings to the UNSRI team and hoped that this visit would leave a positive impression for both parties.

Then, the Head of the Fisheries Product Technology Program of FPIK Undip, Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi., M.Si., gave a brief introduction about the Fisheries Product Technology program and its laboratory facilities, which would later be visited by the students from UNSRI. This explanation provided an in-depth overview of the facilities and excellence of the THP FPIK Undip program, which could be an inspiration for the guests from UNSRI.

The event continued with an exchange of keepsakes between the two institutions as a symbol of friendship. The activities concluded with a group photo and a visit to the Functional Food Laboratory and Packaging Laboratory of the THP FPIK Undip program. This visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between the two faculties and provide scientific benefits for the development of the Fisheries Product Technology study program in Indonesia.

Seafood Fiesta Delight at Marlin Space FPIK Undip

On Friday, 21 June 2024, Marlin Space Cafe FPIK Undip presented something interesting, unique, and different. Marlin Space held a Seafood Fiesta event, a seafood party with an All You Can Eat concept that offered a variety of delicious seafood menus such as fish, squid, shrimp, as well as complementary side dishes such as fruits and others. The event was designed to provide a satisfying culinary experience for its customers.

The Seafood Fiesta event was divided into three batches: lunch break session (12.00-14.00), an afternoon session (16.00- 18.00), and an evening session, each lasting for two hours and limited to 50 people per batch. The event was a huge success with all batches filled to capacity by enthusiastic participants savouring the various seafood dishes served. The enthusiasm of the participants to experience the joy of seafood in a warm and pleasant atmosphere was high.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., also attended the Seafood Fiesta event. Thus, his presence added to the excitement of the event held in the last week of the Final Semester Examination (UAS), with the hope that students can treat themselves after facing the final exam weeks as well as experiencing a different atmosphere during their study time at FPIK Undip. Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for this event and looking forward to see similar events to be held frequently to support the excellence of FPIK Undip.

The Dean of FPIK, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D, hopes that with this Seafood Fiesta event, FPIK Undip will be appreciated and loved by the students as well as elevating the positive branding of FPIK Undip among the general public, moreover it can be a form of support for the government program, especially the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, namely the Gemarikan Program. With the success of this event, Marlin Space Cafe FPIK Undip has succeeded in presenting new concept that is not only refreshing, but also different for the FPIK and Undip community.

FPIK, SEMARANG – On Friday, June 7, 2024, PT Cassanatama Naturindo visited the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) of Diponegoro University. This visit was part of a joint effort to update the progress of the Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP). In this visit, PT Cassanatama Naturindo also invited PT Sahabat Laut Lestari, which is known as a provider of fisheries data collection tools, to participate in the discussion.

During the visit, the group was welcomed by Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D, as the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, the Vice Dean for Resources, Prof. Dr. Aristi Dian Purnama Fitri, S.Pi., as well as FPIK Undip lecturers, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Sri Redjeki, M.Si. The discussion focused on updating the progress of the ongoing FIP program. The FIP program is a strategic initiative that aims to improve sustainable fisheries practices and products in Indonesia. In this meeting, both parties shared information, data, and exchanged constructive input to ensure the program runs according to plan and reaches the target.

The collaboration between PT Cassanatama Naturindo, PT Sahabat Laut Lestari, and FPIK Undip is expected to have a positive impact on fisheries management in Indonesia. With this collaboration, it is hoped that more sustainable and environmentally friendly fisheries practices can be achieved. FPIK, SEMARANG – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) Diponegoro University now has a new facility with a modern and fresh concept, namely Marlin Space. Marlin Space is the result of a collaboration between FPIK and FPIK Undip alumni. Strategically located in the FPIK campus area, Marlin Space is made to offer a different experience for the FPIK and Undip academic community.

Marlin Space carries a comfortable and modern coffee shop concept, with air-conditioned indoor facilities and an aesthetic outdoor area. Marlin Space offers varieties of beverage menu, ranging from espresso-based, tea-based, milk-based drinks to Marlin Space’s signature drinks that are authentic and have a special taste you can’t find anywhere. Moreover, a variety of delicious snacks such as croissants with various toppings, sandwich, mix platter, and waffles are also available to order to compliment your choice of drink.

This new facility is also supported by a strong wi-fi network, making it an ideal place for students to work on their assignments or socialize with friends. FPIK Team Successfully Sweeps Multiple Achievements at The FAPERTA Fair 5

FPIK, SEMARANG – Five students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) and one student of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University managed to win several categories at the Futuristics and Prestige Research, Technology and Art (FAPERTA) Fair 5 competition which took place on 18-19 May 2024 at Dhyana Pura University, Bali. The FAPERTA Fair is a national level essay competition organised by Sentosa Foundation. In this competition, the team consisted of five students of FPIK and one student from the vocational school won Gold Medal in the Environmental theme (Essay category), Silver Medal in the HSE theme (Poster category), Bronze Medal in the Environmental theme (Essay category), Bronze Medal in the Technology theme (Essay category), and became 3rd Runner Up. The five FPIK students who successfully achieved these achievements are students from the Capture Fisheries Department, namely:

Aside from the hard work of the brilliant students, their success in winning several categories is also supported by the lecturer, faculty, and Bank Jateng which also provided sponsorship to the FPIK team in participating in the competition. With this national level achievement through FAPERTA Fair 5, Adji as Team Leader hopes to be able to participate in other national or international level competitions. Adji believes that he and his fellow FPIK students can achieve even better achievements in the future. ‘I also hope that FPIK as a Faculty can continue to show support to students who want to develop and excel in their respective fields,’ he said. Hopefully in the future there will be more students from FPIK Undip who can make such achievements.
