Semarang, FPIK Undip received a scientific visit from class XI (eleven) SMA Islam Al Azhar 15 Semarang on October 4, 2022. The visit was aimed at obtaining information about FPIK and its facilities. The event was opened by the Deputy Dean of Academics, Agus Trianto, then followed by a presentation by representatives of student associations per study program regarding technical information on programs and facilities per FPIK study program.
The Environmental and Maritime Affairs Sector The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University has carried out the GITAR (Mangrove Planting Action Movement). Planting activities are carried out in stages over four planting times. The first stage, second stage, third stage and fourth stage planting activities were carried out respectively on September 10, September 17, 2022, September 24, 2022, and October 1, 2022 at Tirang Beach, Semarang district, Central Java Province. This activity was carried out with UNDIP students, especially in the field of service from the UNDIP Psychology BEM and all associations from within FPIK (HIMAOSE, HMIK, HIMADEPTA, HIMAKUA, HIMATEKPI, and HIMASAKA) as well as several communities engaged in the environmental field.
GITAR or Mangrove Planting Action Movement is a work program from the field of LHK BEM FPIK UNDIP 2022. This activity is an implementation of the field of service, especially the environment and maritime affairs which is a response to land subsidence events and rising sea levels, especially in coastal areas north of the coast of Java such as in Semarang and Demak. The average land subsidence in Semarang City is 4.37±4 cm/year. Therefore, BEM FPIK UNDIP took the action of planting mangroves on Tirang Beach, located in Tambakrejo Village, Tugu District, Semarang City, with a total of 6000 mangrove seedlings to overcome problems that arise due to sea level rise. The mangrove seedlings used in this activity are supported by the Pemali Jratun Watershed Management Center and Protected Forest (BPDASHL) Semarang City, with a total of 6000 mangrove seedlings. This activity is also sponsored by Indofood.
The event was opened with remarks by the Chief Executive, Muhammad Lutfanul Fikri, who conveyed directions to the participants to remain enthusiastic in carrying out planting activities and in carrying out the event to reduce the use of food or drinks in single-use plastic packaging, this is because GITAR activities implement less waste. It is hoped that this activity will be able to increase the percentage of growth and survival of the planted mangroves by planting by taking into account the characteristics of the seeds, from the type of mangrove seedlings to the place where they are planted. In addition, this activity has also carried out post-planting monitoring activities that involve the role of students and the community in the sustainability of their supervision.
Semarang, FPIK Undip received a scientific visit from class IX (eleven) Islamic SMA Nurul Fikri Boarding School Serang. The visit was carried out on 27 September 2022 with 111 students and 10 accompanying teachers participating. The purpose of the visit was to obtain information about FPIK and its facilities.
The event was opened by the Deputy Dean of Academics, Agus Trianto, he said that FPIK has achieved many achievements both in the academic field as well as research and service, including internship collaboration with PT Delos Maritim and Iriodori, shrimp cultivation and diving training. Then remarks by Mr. Andrianto as the representative of SMA Islam Nurul Fikri. For technical information about the information per study program, it is presented by the representative of the student association of the study program concerned.
The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Trenggono with the Dean of FPIK Undip, Prof. Tri and Deputy Chancellor I Undip, Prof. Faisal conducted a fish seed distribution in the Jatibarang Reservoir on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.The one hundred and fifty thousand seeds of nilem and tawes that were stocked were supported by the Central Java Provincial Marine and Fisheries Service, the Semarang City Fisheries Service, and the Sukabumi Fish Seed Center. Jatibarang Reservoir is located in the tourist village of Jamalsari, Kandri sub-district, Gunungpati, which is a target village for the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, FPIK Undip.
The seeding activity is part of a series of activities in the context of implementing the Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Higher Education Leadership Forum with the theme “Optimizing Independent Learning of the Independent Campus to Face Challenges and Opportunities in Marine and Fisheries in the Industrial Era 5.0”. with the theme of the National Seminar “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” and the International Conference on Environmental Development of Tropical and Coastal Areas or The 7th International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco Development (ICTCRED) with the topic “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” which is carried out online, where FPIK Undip is the host. In addition to stocking fish seeds, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia also held the distribution of 400 joy packages.
FPIK Undip successfully held the Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Higher Education Leadership Forum (FP2TPKI) and a National Seminar with the theme “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” which was held on 20-21 September 2022 at Prof. Building. Soedarto Undip Tembalang Campus. The activity was attended by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, Director of Research, Technology and Community Service of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology RI, M. Faiz Syuaib, representatives of the leaders of Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universities, participants and invited guests.
The activity was opened by the Dean of FPIK Undip, Prof. Tri, she was grateful for the extraordinary contributions of the participants, as evidenced by the collection of 64 national articles which could later be published in the SINTA accredited national journal of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Higher Education.
In his speech, Undip Chancellor, Prof. Yos revealed that in order to support community education programs in the utilization of fishery and marine resources, Undip provided free education facilities for fishermen’s children who could not afford it, and at the admission of New Students for the 2022/2023 Academic Year there were 40 FPIK Undip students who received scholarships.
Mr. Ganjar Pranowo also added that now is the time for our focus to shift from land-based oriented to ocean-based oriented. “The coast on the coast of Central Java is long, with the potential for capture fisheries reaching 340,082 tons, and there are 106,466 fishermen. Helping the feasibility and improving the standard of living of Indonesian fishermen takes time, so it requires cooperation from various parties who are experts in disaster mitigation, solving environmental problems as well as technical issues,” he said.
