Inauguration of Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc and Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, ST, M.Si as Professor of FPIK

FPIK, SEMARANG – On Wednesday, November 14th, 2019, is a happy day for the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) Diponegoro University. FPIK UNDIP increased the number of professors by two. The two inaugurated FPIK UNDIP professors were Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc from the Department of Marine Science and Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, ST, M.Si from the Oceanography Department.

The implementation of the Professor’s Inauguration ceremony took place in Prof. Building. Soedarto SH, Tembalang, led by the Chairperson of the Undip Academic Senate Prof. Dr. Ir. Soenarso, MS. Professor inauguration speech by Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc entitled “Coral Reproduction Strategy for Conservation of Reef Ecosystem”. In his speech, Prof. Diah explained the importance of the coral reef ecosystem. There are many factors that cause damage to reefs at this time it is urgent to initiate efforts that can reduce the worsening condition of coral reefs in Indonesia. The existence of these ecosystems cannot be separated from the dynamics of environmental conditions. One of them is by doing coral cultivation. With the development of various coral cultivation techniques, it is hoped that coral cultivation activities can be intensified.

Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, ST, M.Si delivered a speech entitled “Rob Calendar Digital Technology: Disaster Mitigation Strategies in Coastal Areas”. The inauguration speech explained about the development of tidal flood digital technology in the form of an android-based rob calendar to find out when the rob occurred, how high the tide was, how long the tidal flood took place, and how the tidal water level condition occurred. According to Prof. Denny is part of his contribution to the development of science and technology, as well as in solving problems in coastal areas.

In addition to inaugurating two professors from FPIK, UNDIP also confirmed a professor, namely Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D from the Faculty of Economics and Business. With the inauguration of this Professor, until now FPIK UNDIP has 20 professors of which Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc is the 5th Professor from the Department of Marine Science and Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, ST, M.Si is the 3rd Professor from the Oceanography Department.

FPIK, SEMARANG – On Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, nauguration was held Prof. Dr. Ir. Delianis Pringgenies, M.Sc. as a Professor in the field of Marine Biotechnology at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University. The Professor’s Inauguration Address was delivered before the Diponegoro University Academic Senate Open Session consisting of Professors and invited guests, with the title: “Bioprospection of Marine Biological Materials for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Indonesia”.

With the addition of these professors, until now FPIK UNDIP has 18 professors of which Prof. Dr. Ir. Delianis Pringgenies, M.Sc is the 4th Professor in the Department of Marine Science, thus adding to the Srikandi Professor of FPIK after previously being confirmed as a Professor, namely Prof. Norma Afiati, M.Sc, Ph.D; Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc, Ph.D; Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Redjeki, M.Sc and Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi, M.Sc. (Ratnaningtyas).

FPIK, SEMARANG – On Wednesday, Apr 10th, 2019, an award was given from the French Government to one of the teaching staff of the Department of Marine Science. Dr. Ir. Ita Widowati, DEA received the Chevalier dans I’Ordre des Palmes Academiques Award from the French Government which was delivered directly by the French Ambassador Jean-Charles Berthonnet in Semarang. She received the award for her services to strengthen higher education cooperation between Indonesia and France. Congratulations and Success to Dr. Ir. Ita Widowati, DEA. (Ratnaningtyas).
