Nurturing Spirituality through FPIK Bersholawat

FPIK, SEMARANG -​​ Al-Bahrain as one of the Student Activity Units from FPIK Undip held an event entitled FPIK Bersholawat which took place at the Diponegoro University Campus Mosque, Sunday (3/12). This event is the closing of a series of projects carried out by Al-Bahrain. Carrying the theme “Harmoni Kebaikan Lautan Iman”, this event was attended by the general public who wanted to listen to the material presented by Habib Ja’far Shodiq and M. Atiatul Muqtadir who is the chairman of BEM KM UGM 2019 or commonly known as Mas Fathur. The Rector of Diponegoro University for 2024-2029, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. also took the time to attend the event as a form of support from the University for student activities.

The event began with remarks from Zuhaimi as the head organizer, and Al-Bahrain advisor, Dr. Kunarso S.T., M.Si. which was then followed by shalawat together guided by Ready UKM. Furthermore, there was lecture material from Habib Ja’far and Mas Fathur which became the center of attention of the participants.

In the event, Habib Ja’far and Mas Fathur presented very interesting material about the harmony of goodness and faith that can encourage participants to get closer to Allah SWT. The material was delivered in a way that was easy to understand so that some participants felt closer to Allah SWT and understood more about Islam. It is hoped that by holding this event, it can increase spirituality for the participants, especially the FPIK Undip academic community who have participated in the event. (Adm)

Successful and Fun: Aquaculture Business Day X Storia Aquatica 2023

FPIK, SEMARANG – On Wednesday 29th November 2023, The Aquaculture Study Program of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Diponegoro University (Undip) held the Aquaculture Business Day X Storia Aquatiqa activity in front of the FPIK Undip Auditorium. This activity aims to train the entrepreneurial skills of FPIK Undip students. There were so many stands that enlivened the Aquaculture Business Day event such as the patin & shrimp kebab stand, shrimp dimsum, ebifuray, mayosearolls, dipang.co, fishtory, risol.lumerr, pakies_id, kish ice bite, and little island.

The event was opened by the student art performance and was introduced by Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs of FPIK Undip. He hopes that in the future this event can continue to grow and be carried out by all study programs at FPIK Undip. The enthusiasm of the visitors was very high, it could be seen from the academic community of FPIK and the general public from PAUD Mutiara Hati. (Adm)

Ph.D. attended the International Fisheries Symposium 2023 with the theme “Building Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture for Future Generations” at Novotel Future Park Rangsit Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand on November 22-24, 2023.

FPIK Undip Trains Japanese Students in Diving and Introduces Coral Reef Ecosystems in Karimunjawa, Jepara

FPIK, SEMARANG -​​ The Department of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Diponegoro University (Undip) held the Summer Course Tropical Ecodive, an activity to introduce tropical marine ecosystems, especially coral reef ecosystems and other coastal ecosystems. FPIK Undip equips participants to master SCUBA diving.

This annual program was held in the Semarang area and Karimunjawa waters, Jepara Regency on 12-22 August 2023. This program, which was originally labeled “Introduction to Scientific Diving”, was initiated in 2015, then implemented for the first time in 2016 and lasted until 2019. Activities were stopped in 2020-2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and this year it started again. The main participants were 10 foreign students from Kwansei Gakuin University, Hyogo, Japan and 25 domestic students with foreign resource person Prof. Hideki Hashimoto and Prof. Hidetoshi Sato.

High enthusiasm was shown by participants from Kwansei Gakuin University, Hyogo, Japan. This can be seen from the number of activity participants which continues to increase from year to year. The manager of this summer course program, Prof. Munasik, said that in 2016 the number of participants was 4 people, in 2017 it increased to 7 people.

“In 2018 and 2019 there were 8 and 6 participants, until this year there were 10 participants consisting of 8 men and 3 women,” he said, Wednesday (16/8/2023).

The summer course activities were opened by the Dean of FPIK Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc, Ph.D continued with the delivery of material from several Professors and senior lecturers at FPIK Undip regarding marine flora and fauna, introduction to coral reef ecosystems and (mangrove) ecosystems and also SCUBA diving theory. “Interesting material, interactive presentations and in-depth discussions about marine conservation were delivered by experts from FPIK Undip,” she said.

Next, participants take part in diving training in the Karimunjawa Islands guided by experienced diving instructors. “The hope is that students will be introduced to the beautiful views of various types of coral reefs, abundant tropical marine life, stunning beauty under the sea and the beauty of the beaches of the small islands of Karimunjawa,” said Prof. Munasik.

One of the foreign speakers, Prof. Hideki Hashimoto stated that Karimunjawa was chosen for the summer course because it has the best underwater beauty in Javanese sea waters with a composition of coral types that is different from Japanese waters. (Source: undip.ac.id)
