FPIK UNDIP Strengthens the Implementation of Occupational Safety Culture through SMK3 Socialization and Technical Assistance

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universitas Diponegoro held a Socialization and Technical Assistance Program on the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Dean’s Building of FPIK Undip. This activity was conducted as a follow-up to the implementation of Rector Regulation Number 18 of 2025 concerning the Occupational Safety and Health Management System within Universitas Diponegoro, as well as a strategic effort to strengthen the occupational safety and health (K3) culture within academic and administrative environments.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Resources of FPIK Undip, Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi., M.Si., along with nine FPIK Undip staff members who hold Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certifications. The presence of certified K3 personnel plays an important role in supporting the optimal implementation of workplace safety standards within the faculty.

The program featured Dr. Bina Kurniawan, S.KM., M.Kes., Head of the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Unit (UPT K3L) of Undip, as the main speaker. In his presentation, he emphasized that the implementation of SMK3 is not merely an administrative obligation for institutions, but also an effort to build a work culture that prioritizes safety, health, and risk mitigation within the campus environment.

The materials presented included the implementation of occupational safety and health management systems in higher education institutions, identification of potential hazards in the workplace, risk control measures, and strengthening coordination among units to support the creation of a safe and productive working environment. In addition, the activity also served as a technical assistance forum for faculties in preparing K3 implementation integrated with accreditation requirements and institutional rankings.

The socialization and technical assistance sessions were conducted interactively through discussions and question-and-answer sessions, enabling participants to gain a more comprehensive understanding of SMK3 implementation according to the conditions and needs of their respective work units.

Through this activity, FPIK Undip hopes that all members of the academic community will develop greater awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health and be able to apply K3 principles in every activity within the campus environment. Through this commitment, FPIK Undip continues to strive toward achieving professional, excellent, and safety-oriented institutional governance.
