Strengthening International Collaboration, FPIK Undip Conducts Industry and Shrimp Farm Visits in China

Guangzhou, China – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), participated in an international working visit to Xiamen and Guangzhou, China, from April 20 to 25, 2026. The visit aimed to discuss potential collaborations in aquaculture as well as to observe shrimp farming industry practices.

This activity represents a follow-up to ongoing collaboration initiatives with industry partners, particularly in advancing sustainable and globally oriented aquaculture development. The visit was supported by Undip’s industry partner, PT Dua Putra Perkasa. The Undip delegation consisted of university leaders and academic staff from various faculties, including representatives from FPIK.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in strategic discussions with industry partners regarding opportunities for collaboration in aquaculture technology development, productivity enhancement, and the implementation of environmentally sustainable farming practices. In addition, the team conducted site visits to modern shrimp farming operations managed by industry players in Xiamen and Guangzhou.

This visit is expected to strengthen Undip’s international network, particularly for FPIK, and to open up concrete opportunities for collaboration in research, education, and fisheries industry development. Through this initiative, FPIK Undip continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing innovative and globally competitive fisheries and marine sectors.
