Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Universitas Diponegoro reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening research and scientific publication culture through the organization of the Nusantara Environmental Sustainability Research Consortium and Manuscript Clinic, held on 6–7 February 2026 at Hotel Griya Persada Kaliurang, Yogyakarta. The event served as a strategic forum that brought together lecturers, researchers, and postgraduate students to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration in the fields of fisheries and marine sciences.

A total of 41 participants from various departments took part in the program, which was designed to align research directions, expand academic networks, and develop evidence-based solutions to strategic issues such as sustainable fisheries resources, aquaculture food security, coastal ecosystem restoration, and climate change mitigation. The consortium also became a platform for sharing ideas and strengthening interdisciplinary research synergy in support of sustainable marine and fisheries development.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FPIK Undip, Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc.. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of improving scientific writing capacity as part of strengthening academic culture and achieving the faculty’s publication performance indicators. According to her, high-quality research must be accompanied by the ability to produce scientific manuscripts that can compete in reputable national and international journals.


One of the main highlights of the event was the two-day intensive Manuscript Clinic. The program featured Prof. Dr.Sc. Anindya Wirasatriya, S.T., M.Si., M.Sc., who has an H-index of 20, as the keynote mentor providing direct and constructive guidance to participants. During the sessions, participants received comprehensive assistance ranging from sharpening research gaps, selecting appropriate methodologies, and conducting data analysis to preparing manuscripts in accordance with academic ethical standards, selecting suitable journals, and managing the submission process.
In addition, Yusuf Jati Wijaya, S.Kel., M.Sc., M.Si., Ph.D. shared insights and strategies for scientific article writing, including approaches to developing strong research narratives and tips for responding to journal review processes. The materials also highlighted the importance of presenting informative tables, graphs, and maps, as well as constructing systematic and engaging research narratives to improve publication competitiveness.
The Dean of FPIK Undip, Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the program reflects the faculty’s strong commitment to building a collaborative and productive research ecosystem. “We want to ensure that every brilliant idea does not stop at the desk, but instead creates meaningful impacts on scientific development and policy-making,” he remarked. During the Manuscript Clinic, a total of 50 manuscripts were successfully reviewed and submitted to reputable international journals.
Through this initiative, FPIK Undip aims to continuously enhance both the quality and quantity of scientific publications produced by its academic community while strengthening the institution’s contribution to the advancement of science, technology, and research-based policy development in the fisheries and marine sectors.
