Semarang – Students from the Fisheries Product Technology Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (FPIK Undip), continue to demonstrate their international engagement by participating in an internship program in Hokkaido, Japan. This program is part of the faculty’s efforts to enhance students’ global competencies through direct exposure to the fisheries processing industry with international standards.
During the internship, students have the opportunity to learn about production processes, quality control, and the application of modern fisheries processing technologies. In addition, they gain valuable experience of Japanese work culture, which emphasizes discipline, precision, and efficiency in every stage of production.

The Head of the Study Program stated that the international internship not only strengthens students’ technical skills but also broadens their global perspectives and readiness to enter the workforce. The experience gained is expected to encourage innovation in Indonesian fisheries products and enhance the global competitiveness of FPIK Undip graduates.
Through this initiative, FPIK Undip reaffirms its commitment to supporting educational internationalization and strengthening collaboration with global industry partners. In the future, similar programs are expected to continue and provide broader benefits for students as well as the development of the national fisheries sector.
