On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Diponegoro University welcomed an educational visit from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya. Around 100 students attended the event, which took place in the FPIK Undip Auditorium on the Tembalang Campus in Semarang.
The group was officially welcomed by FPIK Undip officials. In his speech, Darwanto, S.H., Manager of the FPIK Undip Administration Office, said that Diponegoro University is one of the universities whose graduates are highly competitive in the job market. He emphasised that Undip alumni are known for obtaining jobs relatively quickly after graduation.

A representative from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya then expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome given by FPIK Undip. They encouraged the students to make the most of the visit.
“Feel free to ask as many questions as you like about Undip, especially FPIK, while you are at one of the best universities in Indonesia. It is up to you how you can bring honour to Indonesia in the future; we are only here to facilitate. Please tell our students that there is an extraordinary university in Semarang,” he said.

Next, FPIK Undip students gave a presentation about Diponegoro University and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences. The students seemed enthusiastic about the presentation and actively participated in the question-and-answer session to find out more about the study programmes, college life and the career prospects for FPIK Undip graduates.
To conclude the series of activities, the students were invited to visit several laboratories owned by FPIK Undip, including the Fishing Gear Laboratory, the Biology Laboratory and the Functional Food Laboratory. Through this visit, the students gained first-hand experience of the facilities that support education, research and scientific development in the field of fisheries and marine science.
The visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between FPIK Undip and secondary education institutions while introducing the students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya to the world of higher education.
