FPIK Undip Wins Four Awards at ICAI 2025 Through the Support of the WCU Program

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science of Diponegoro University (FPIK Undip) has once again achieved an impressive milestone on the international stage. At the 11th International Conference Aquaculture Indonesia (ICAI) 2025, held on 29–30 October 2025 at Wyndham Hotel Surabaya, FPIK Undip successfully brought home four international awards across various categories.

ICAI 2025 is an annual scientific forum that brings together academics, researchers, industry practitioners, and stakeholders in the field of aquaculture from multiple countries to present innovations, cutting-edge research, and the latest technological developments in the aquatic farming industry.

For this year’s conference, FPIK Undip sent participants supported by the World Class University (WCU) – Student Go International Program, which provides funding for students to enhance their global exposure and competencies through participation in international conferences.

A total of 19 students — including Ninik Umi Hartanti, Amelia Rahmawati, Abidin Nur, Ahmad Naqib Farga, Habibi Satrio Romadhon, Commodor Tirta Syah, Muhammad Prabu, Salsabila Sambhara Putri, Alif Athallah Fathifauzan, Andika Dinar Saputra, Mochammad Ikhsan Azhariansyah, Muhajir Sidik, Rizki Ahmad Fachreza, Siti Dinda Chrisnawati, Andalusia Siti Nurazizah, Nadia Nurul Izzah, Narendra Rhayszha Putra, Elvira Clara Yanadea, and Marisa Putri Syabina — received WCU funding, which covered conference registration fees, transportation, and accommodation for the duration of the event. In addition, seven FPIK Undip lecturers participated as presenters and attendees using personal funding.

The participation of FPIK Undip at ICAI 2025 resulted in remarkable achievements, with four awards obtained, namely:

  1. Best Contributor Presenter in ICAI 2025
  2. Best Presenter, awarded to:
    • Abidin Nur (PhD student in Aquatic Resource Management) for the topic Hatchery System and Health Management
    • Andalusia Siti Nuraziza (Undergraduate student in Marine Science) for the topic Innovation and Technology for Resilient Aquaculture
  3. Best Session Chair, awarded to Dr. Lestari Lakhsmi Widowati, S.Pi., M.Pi.

The head of the delegation emphasized that participation in ICAI 2025 aims to strengthen the academic capacity of the FPIK Undip community, broaden international research networks, and encourage both students and lecturers to compete at the global level. These four awards stand as proof of FPIK Undip’s commitment to advancing research quality and scientific development in the aquaculture field.
