FPIK, SEMARANG – The dive training program for Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) students, Japan lasted for 9 days (August 22nd – 30th, 2018) in Semarang City and Karimunjawa Islands. The Summer Course Program of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) was joined by students who were accompanied by Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) Lecturer, Prof. Hideki Hashimoto, PhD and Yuko Iwatsuki, PhD.
The lecture and opening ceremony of the Summer Course Program were held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the FPIK campus. The event was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Zainuri, DEA, accompanied by the Dean of FPIK Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Sabdono, M.Sc as well as the FPIK Vice-Deans and FPIK Department Chairmen and Diving Instructors.
The lectures and classes for this program were delivered by several lecturers from the Department of Marine Sciences, i.e. Introduction to Scientific Diving by Dr. Ir. Munasik, M.Sc; Introduction to Coral Reef by Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc; Mangrove Ecosystem by Dr. Rudhi Pribadi, and Explore Karimunjawa by Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Dive training instructor, Dr. Ir. Munasik, M.Sc explained that this program was a collaboration between Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU), Japan and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University since 2016, and this was the third time the event was held. (Ratnaningtyas).
