Advancing World-Class Quality, Two FPIK Undip Study Programs Undergo ASIIN International Assessment

Semarang – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing internationally recognized education quality through the implementation of the ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics) international accreditation site assessment. This activity involved two study programs, namely the Fisheries Product Technology Study Program and the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, held on April 13–17, 2026, at the UNDIP Tembalang Campus, Semarang.

This site assessment is part of UNDIP’s strategic efforts to strengthen its global reputation and ensure that academic implementation within FPIK meets comprehensive international standards. The evaluation covers various aspects, including curriculum, teaching and learning processes, study program governance, and the relevance of graduates to industry and workforce demands.

ASIIN assembled an international panel of experts consisting of Prof. Dr. Markus Frank, Prof. Dr. Mamadou Diakité, Prof. Dr. Thore Toews, Rara Diantari, and Dr. Gert Füllner, accompanied by Johann Jakob Winter, M.Sc. The assessors conducted in-depth evaluations through direct discussions with lecturers, students, administrative staff, alumni, as well as industry and business partners to obtain a factual overview of the study programs’ management.

The assessment agenda included a review of academic documents, inspection of learning facilities, and interactive discussion sessions with various stakeholders. This process aims to evaluate the implementation of quality assurance systems and the alignment of educational standards with ASIIN’s international criteria.

The Dean of FPIK UNDIP stated that this assessment serves as a significant milestone in advancing educational quality and global competitiveness. Furthermore, the activity opens broader opportunities for strengthening international collaborations in the fields of fisheries and marine sciences.

The participation of the Fisheries Product Technology and Aquatic Resources Management Study Programs in the ASIIN international accreditation process reflects FPIK UNDIP’s strong commitment to supporting Universitas Diponegoro’s vision of becoming a World Class University. Through this process, both programs are expected to produce graduates who are competent, adaptive, and globally competitive.

With the completion of this site assessment, FPIK UNDIP further reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality, internationally standardized higher education while contributing to the sustainable development of the fisheries and marine sectors in Indonesia.
