The laboratories at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Undip are designed to comprehensively support practical training, research, and learning in the fields of fisheries and marine sciences. Within the main FPIK campus, there are various laboratories located in several buildings—such as E, J, C, D, G, and H—each with a specific scientific focus. These laboratories provide both standard microscopes and those equipped with cameras, as well as equipment for analyzing water and sediment quality, enabling students to conduct practical exercises and analyze marine environmental data directly.

Additionally, FPIK Undip offers specialized laboratories for various scientific fields, such as the Marine Biology Laboratory, equipped with tools for marine biology research (microscopes, water quality testing devices, centrifuges, and others), and the Marine Microbiology Laboratory, featuring equipment like PCR thermocyclers and autoclaves to support marine microbiology and biotechnology practices. There is also a Marine Geology Laboratory supporting studies in marine geology and sedimentology, as well as various other laboratories. All these facilities support various courses such as marine biology, microbiology, marine chemistry, and marine geology, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge directly through laboratory practical activities.

In addition to basic science and marine science laboratories, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Undip also has other supporting facilities, such as the Computer Laboratory and the Scientific Diving Laboratory. The Computer Laboratory is equipped with licensed computers running specialized software used for remote sensing data analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and marine environmental modeling, thereby supporting data processing and mapping practices. Meanwhile, the Scientific Diving Laboratory provides diving equipment and SCUBA gear to support scientific diving practicals and underwater research, including diving tanks, regulators, and underwater survey equipment.

In addition to being equipped with various practical and research tools, every laboratory space at FPIK Undip also prioritizes workplace safety. The laboratories are equipped with eye wash stations for emergency treatment in case of chemical contact with the eyes, as well as portable fire extinguishers (APAR) provided as a precaution against potential fires within the laboratory environment.

With these various laboratories and supporting facilities, FPIK Undip is able to provide an applied educational experience and support in-depth research activities. This strengthens students’ competencies not only in theoretical knowledge but also in hands-on practice in the fields of fisheries and marine sciences, which are relevant to industry needs and modern research developments.
