The Workshop on Enhancing the Total Number of Citations and Research Articles in Reputable International Journals at FPIK UNDIP

To enhance the quality of scientific publications and boost the visibility of research conducted by lecturers and researchers, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) organized a workshop focused on increasing citations and producing highly reputable scientific articles. This event took place at the Teluk Awur Campus in Jepara.

The event, which was attended by numerous lecturers, researchers, and postgraduate students, included a distinguished expert in the field of scientific publications, Prof. Dr. Sc. Anindya Wirasatriya, S.T., M.Sc., M.Si., who holds an H-index of 18. This workshop seeks to offer a comprehensive comprehension of strategies for composing impactful scientific articles, methods for enhancing the H-index, and the utilization of digital platforms to broaden the dissemination of citations.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., highlighted the significance of producing high-quality scientific publications as a fundamental pillar in enhancing the institution’s academic standing. “We aim not only to generate research but also to guarantee its recognition, citation, and meaningful contribution to the advancement of global fisheries and marine science,” he stated.

One of the highlighted sessions in this activity is Fine Tuning, conducted with mentors who are FPIK lecturers possessing an H-index exceeding 6. Participants are also instructed in formulating strategies for disseminating articles via academic networks, institutional repositories, and scientific social media platforms such as ResearchGate and LinkedIn.

Bayu Munandar, S.Kel., M.Si., a participant and an young lecturer at the FPIK, expressed his support for the initiative. This workshop is highly pertinent, particularly for early-career lecturers such as myself who are establishing a publication track record. He stated that the material presented is highly applicable and can be promptly implemented. The two-day event, conducted from October 17 to 18, 2025, ended in the submission of 50 articles to a reputable international journal indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. The event further symbolized a collective pledge by all attendees to augment the quantity of internationally indexed publications and enhance the quality of citations in the forthcoming years. FPIK UNDIP is dedicated to the ongoing development of a collaborative, innovative, and globally influential research environment.
