A program called Research Journey was conducted by FarmaSea of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan) Universitas Diponegoro between 17-24th December 2009
This was a regular program run by FarmaSea which is one of student study groups at Marine Science Department with main interest in the pharmacology of the sea. This activity which was aimed to explore biological materials from the sea to serve as source of natural products was conducted at Panjang Island, Jepara. Vice Dean III Ir. Nur Taufiq DEHW SPJ Mappsc in the opening ceremony expressed that this acitivity is part of the bridge between the field of marine science with the world of medical pharmacology. Similarly, Dr. Ambariyanto as supervisor of this study group hope that this activity will open the mind of all member of the group especially to the newly recruited. It is also said that in the future it is expected that FarmaSea should expand it’s wings to national or even international level that can make FarmaSea UPK as a center of study in the field of marine pharmacology. Many activities carried out in this program will ensure to broaden the participants knowledge related to marine biodiversity and its potential as bioactive sources. The program which was attende by 45 students went very successful. "Hopefully with this RJ-2009 all participants as young scientist have found the benefits and potential of high diversity of marine organisms as sources of useful products for the pharmacological world," said M Mutarom Joseph as Chief FarmaSea student study group. |
