Scientific Diving Certification has been carried out in Semarang and Karimunjawa Islands between 10-17 December 2009 as a result of cooperation between the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan) Universitas Diponegoro with the Association of Diving School (ADS) International.
The certification is intended for academics in from various departments, as well as researchers and marine environmentalists. Scientific Diver is known as a special level issued by ADS International, headquartered in Yokohama, Japan. A total of 13 students from Marine Science Study Program and Oceanography study program joined this event, which is also attended by the Chairman of ADS-I Indonesia Hidayat Prayogo, M.Sc. Scientific Diver certification which is managed by the Scientific Board Indonesia ADS-I, was chaired by Dr. Munasik. This Scientific Diving Certification is the first time conducted in Indonesia and was organised by Marine Diving Club (MDC) Marine Sciences Department FPIK UNDIP. Given the importance of this particular dive certification for the development of underwater surveys and scientific activities, this kind of certification will be held regularly every year. |
