Dean of FFMS (Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan) Prof. Johannes Hutabarat accompanied by Vice Dean DR Ambariyanto and Ir. Agus Indarjo have met with the newly appointed Minister of Marine and Fisheries Affairs Dr. Fadel Muhammad in Jakarta on 2nd of November 2009. Together with other deans of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science from several universities such as UNHAS, UNRI, UNPAD, UNPATTI, UNIBRAW, UNMUL and IPB, the Dean gave suggestions regarding the acceleration of marine and fisheries development in Indonesia. The team which representing the Higher Education Fisheries and Marine Science Leaders Forum (FP2TPK) of Indonesia gave seven-point suggestions on the acceleration of marine and fisheries development to be considered in the work program of the new ministers. Minister of Marine and Fisheries Affairs, Dr. Fadel Mohammed specifically grateful to FP2TPK, and stated that in the future the entire program from his ministry should be based on the data and informations gathered from researvch and studies conducted by universities. The minister also mentioned that such a meeting should be regularly done in order to integrate the ministry programs to be in line with the course provide by the universities. |
