fpik.undip.ac.id-On Wednesday 4 February 2015 Dean of the FFMS-UNDIP, Prof. Muhammad Zainuri, has signed a 4 years Collaboration Agreement with the College of Marine and Environmental Science - James Cook University, Australia and the Indonesia Rainforest Foundation. This was following the MoU signing between JCU-IRF-UNDIP by the Rector Prof. Sudharto P. Hadi and the IRF Country Director Dr. Agus Suryono, witnessed by the Director of IRF in Australia, Dr. John Quayle and UNDIP's Vice Rector for Development and Collaboration, Prof. Sultana M.H. Faraz.
The scope of collaboration is coastal region eco-development; covering the field of mangrove forest restoration for global climate change adaptation and coastal community empowerment particularly through aquaculture. Both are open to the opportunity for students of FFMS UNDIP and JCU to conduct Job Training, internship or other academic activities at the learning sites in Brebes Regency, Central Java. There, the IRF has been successfully developed a 15 hectares pilot project of mangrove reforestation funded by the AUSAID. Whilst waiting for funding support from DANIDA, Denmark, various aspects shall be kept studied during monitoring in that particular pilot project areas; for which, academia and students are welcome.
